Has anyone got a recommendation for paint protection in Brisbane for a white Tiguan?
Justin at Preferred Car Care in Slacks Creek. They use Ceramic Pro. Came up great on my Tig. Would highly recommend Justin.

Dealer update alert for victims of the Grand Hero debacle!
Home Affairs (aka Border, aka Customs) have finally released all the cars that were on the Grand Hero (and several other ships). Apparently they seized and quarantined approximately 20,000 vehicles and searched them individually. Compliance plates are being fitted as of Tuesday just past, with an estimated ETA of 2 weeks to complete them all. Unfortunately my dealer couldn't find out where exactly in the queue of 20k my car was
This should mean that at the absolute worst I will be driving my new Tiguan in ~3 weeks!

Thank you very much. Your dealer could teach mine a few things about communication! Fingers crossed for all of us..

I think I am lucky enough that they have established a fantastic relationship with the right people on the docks! At least we all have some sense of actual timeline now
I have received NADCON report from my dealership but not sure which website I can use to search the VIN number and find out if my car has been discharged off the ship or not....Does anyone know which website could be used to get those information?
Yes I have a similar issue, to me it sounds like the hum is coming from the front wheels, and is very noticeable between 85km and 110km.
I thought it just might be the new tires but its been around for 1,800kms now.
I've booked in to take it to the dealer so they can assess it, I'm really hoping that they will be able to diagnose and fix it, and not just say it's 'regular tire noise' or some rubbish.
Keen to hear if anyone else has had this issue.
Any update crimson_05 ?
Had mine at the dealer for complimentary 2000km checkup. Mentioned the humming sound and they were straight onto it. Kept the car all day and they checked tyre pressure, wheel alignment which were all good. They rotated tyres and the hum moved from rear to front.
This indicated an issue with the Continental tyres. They took another Rline for a spin that has Pirelli tyres and no humming.
They are raising a case with VW Australia to replace tyres. I asked for Pirelli rather than Continental, they will see what they can do.
Should hear next week sometime, they are adamant they will resolve the issue for me
Very happy with the service today, let’s see how the resolution goes next week......

Still no update for mine yet!
Probably at the end of the line.
Mine has been full of delays since first started this order back in May last year.
Heard of a car transport (truck not ship) fire tonight on news and thought that with my luck it would be on board.

I took it to the dealer for a road test and they agreed there was definitely an unusual humming, they thought it might be an alignment or wheel bearing issue. It is booked to go back for a full day on the 15th where they plan to give it a thorough going over in the workshop.
If that doesn't fixed it I will suggest the Continental tires could be the culprit, let me know how you go!
I've been told our fully loaded Ruby Red 162TSI RLine will be at the dealer in Melbourne on 17th January and ready the week after.
Fingers crossed - the wife is keen to take it on our short trip away for Australia Day.
most excellent, you have had a very long wait. Was your car on the Grand Hero?
My dealer has just come to me and suggested my 132 Adventure will be in Adelaide on 16th? I am keen to take it on our week away on the 20th.. fingers crossed. tentatively but hopefully crossed.. let me know how you go...

After asking the dealer a couple of times I never got the VIN or other information so I could track it. I got a 'we have had some problems with our system lately' excuses. So I'm not sure what ship exactly, but based on the dates others who did have tracking info are reporting I think it might have been on the Grand Hero.
I actually started getting 'Welcome to the family', warranty and Customer Service Survey emails from VW last week which prompted me to get in touch with the dealer and find out the actual delivery date otherwise they hadn't contacted me at all. After I got the email saying it was shipping, when I asked them the dealer told me the boat was meant to be in Melbourne on the 19th December but couldn't get me a VIN etc.
Hope your Adventure makes it in time for your trip! A nice long country drive will be a good way to get accustomed to all the bells and whistles

Grand Hero offloaded my car at Port Kembla on 10th Dec, so would have offloaded Melbourne cars several days before that.
Have found several cars on later boats that have already cleared customs before mine, most within a couple of days of landing.
I am now at 1 month and still counting.

same, but it looks like some movement now. You've been waiting much longer. fingers crossed for all of us..
Unfortunate news (at least for me). Agriculture didn't release approximately 150 VW's in Port Kembla and are performing a 'second clean'. Apparently this means the first clean failed to meet their requirements. The cleans are generally done due to moths, sea spray or other potential contamination.
