Your missing my point. Whether its dealer consigned stock or ordered for a customer, the delivery times they quote are complete BS. Everyone here is guessing. The delivery date for these dealer consigned vehicles will depend on when these vehicles were ordered. And the only person that knows that is the dealer. When we know that comments can be made. So the thing to do is talk with the dealer and ask why the vehicles will be available in 4 mths when everyone else is waiting 9+. I received an update this morning from my dealer, after swapping the car to Adventure pack 2 weeks ago, the car is ready for delivery.
Can't wait.. I am away for work and won't be back until Monday... annoying wait:/Comment

Agree. I ordered my Highline with DAP on 18 July and pick it up this week. Admittedly not the R-Line which seems to be the longest lead time, but Highlines also seem to be constrained.Originally posted by Cobwebs View Post
I have been receiving update emails from VW for 4 distinct vehicles, in different stages of build and shipping, across two dealerships. None of which are the one I pick up this week. Despite my best efforts the dealer was 'unable' to provide me a VIN number or any real tracking details until yesterday when it arrived in stock, as if by magic... just in time to meet the latest promised delivery date.
To be honest I only put $500 deposit down and was pretty sceptical that I would see a car before Christmas. I seriously considered placing an order for a Mazda CX-5 ex local stock, and be done with VW and my deposit next week.
My theory is VW are preventing wealthy dealerships from hoarding stock and may only be fulfililng firm customer orders for certain models (Highline, R-Line). The dealers response has been to order multiple vehicles against a single customer to keep their pipeline of 'stock' on the water.
To the best of my knowledge, there are still 4 identical vehicles still in transit with my name on them. So I'll be accepting bids

When you receive the e-mail it means it will go on board of a ship within like 1 or 2 weeks?
How long does the boat trip take? Probably 4-5 weeks again?
Mine is on transport to my dealership, it arrived last monday to the central location in The Netherlands and it should arrive to my local dealership any moment. Then they need an additional week to prepare the car and request a license plate.
Can't wait but I should be driving it home soon now.Comment
