Very true, l am thinking about getting paint protection, because l don't mine cleaning my car.

I don't mind cleaning either. Cathartic really.
Still it only takes me half an hour with the gurney when I'm home.
If you put a good quality wax on it then it will clean just as easily and for a lot less outlay than paint protection.
I've used these paint protection products in the past and I'm not a fan. Huge expense, and after a year or so it's pretty much gone. A good quality wax every 3-6 months is far more cost effective.
While I'm on the subject, Maguires Ultimate. Just started using it. A polymer based product which is incredibly easy to use, leaves no white residue and lasts for ages. Cheap on eBay too. As molly would say, do yourself a favor.

Was looking at Pomponazzi, it is expensive.
But it looks good. Thanks for your feedback.
Righto well ours is finally ordered - 140tdi in red with dap, r line. Estimated delivery is late November.
These things must be popular and I can only assume VW are onto a bit of a winner... we went in one day, there was a car in the system we could have, was already on a boat and would be here in July. Went home to think about it, returned next day to make it official... sorry that car's no longer available. Never mind, there's another one - different colour but all good. This one is headed for another dealer but shouldn't be a problem to get a hold of it. So we do all the official stuff and we go home. Two weeks later I email asking for a VIN, given its already on a boat it shouldn't be hard to get that now. A few days pass with no response and then the salesman calls me to tell me they couldn't get that one either!
Aarrgh anyway stuff it we just did a factory order and will wait the extra time for it. At least we'll get exactly what we want now - we changed the order a bit seeing as we were no longer restricting ourselves to what was available.
I'm an impatient person at the best of times so this is certainly going to be a test! Just keep reminding myself that while millions of children are starving in the world my long wait for a brand new car does not really rate on the scale of life's problems!!

Dont want to burst your bubble, but if your dealer already got you to sign up saying he could get that one destined for another dealer and then oops no we cant, they are not exactly being honest.
Now if their telling you a fresh factory order placed now will be delivered in November I am going to call BS. I think you are being lied to - no doubt.
I ordered in Feb and will get mine start of Nov.
Others on this thread are being told Feb for new orders.
I hope they can deliver on the promise but I sincerely doubt it.
Happy to be proved wrong!!
Never owned a VW before.
ex Bimmer tragic
Ordered Tungsten Tiguan 162TSI r-Line with DAP no Pano 25/2/17
NFI when it will actually arrive!! Last update mid Oct

I agree however seems Sir Tiguanalot bought a 140tdi. Wait times on the diesel are lower vs 162tsi. Also no sunroof will make it a quicker delivery.
I think it is fair to say 162tsi with sunroof is 7-8 month wait and without sunroof maybe 6 months or so if you're ordering one. Unless you are lucky enough to get a dealer allocation that has been ordered already due for delivery around a certain date and not fussed if it is not the right colour/options etc.
Also expect whatever VW tell you with delivery time is unreliable. Add 1-2 months to their timing especially come end of year when Christmas/New Year will delay things.
I ordered mid December and was told end May. The car is finally on its way here for delivery end July maybe early August depending on delivery time from Melbourne. Most people are in the same situation with these delays.

Yup. Same boat as you mate. Hell I am in South Africa the same time my boat is there. Should go pop bye and say hello to our cars [emoji4]
I just got a welcome email as well - 3 months after I got the original email from when I first ordered. It has a different tracking number imbedded in the URL.
I haven't cancelled my order or anything like that. I hope my dealer didn't sell my Original order to someone else and then put a new order in the system in my name?
On the up side maybe they have converted my MY17 order into an MY18 order which generated a new tracking number?
Anybody else gets new welcome email today?
I must say the communication is poor regardless of the cause.
I recheck the new welcoming letter again today, finding the status has changed to "Built", but the first the welcoming letter still shows "order"
Inter-dealer transfers/swaps are very common and they did tell us it was another dealer's allocation when we signed. Given they were then unable to deliver on the contract we could have left and gone and bought something else, but chose not to and instead renegotiated something different.
Yeah its a 140tdi. Seems the main complaints of delays on here relate to the 162tsi. Hopefully that - and the lack of sunroof - will help us.
Though I do fully expect it to blow out. "Expect the worst, hope for the best" as they say!
I received "built" email on 20 May... called my dealer a week or so later and got VIN #... since than I'm constantly getting "No records found" tracking on WWL. What are the chances of it not being shipped yet!?
