I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Great review JB. Your car looks awesome in white too. I've never been a fan of white but the new Tiguan and some other late model Euro's really look sharp. I'm getting the same in grey in about 3 weeks.. hopefully.

So currently in the process of picking up the Tiguan. Firstly, I didn't like the black thing that is hanging out the sides of the rear number plate, it's only not visible with euro plates, which I don't have. This was easily rectified when the servicing team was able to remove it around the edges and it looks a lot neater without. Been here at the dealership since 12:30 and the finance guy was out of the office to another dealership and didn't return until 1:30pm. We did a once over of the car, everything was nice, paint job actually really nice and a great contrast of the white and the black areas. Can I just say, the r line pack is well worth it! Looks amazing on the car. I went in and whilst waiting for the finance bloke, I just happened to remember that my weathershields aren't on! So now I've been waiting since 12:30 and now it's almost 2:30pm and they are waiting for the parts to come to put them on which they said will be by 3:30pm. Very apologetic and offered me another umbrella and 2 caps for the wait. Staff have been helpful and offering water and other drinks as it's quiet warm (we are in demountables) whilst they build the new dealership, but surely someone should've overlooked the contract when the extras were being put into the car..since I already traded in my car, wasn't allowed to take the car and come back at 3:30, so now up the road after a short walk having pizza whilst posting. Here's to getting the car soon 🙏🏼

I see on your picture they have cut the black area already prior to putting on the number plates on the rear. They kept mine on and there was black roughly 5cms on both sides, looked terrible on a white car, so had that removed.

Went for a drive tonight just to the parents place. Got plenty of looks from people walking up the street. One girl almost rotated her neck 360 degrees. Mum reckons it's the best front she's ever seen on a SUV. Now dad wants to trade in his forester XT that we got him for his 50th 4 years ago.. haven't really pushed the car yet, but it's so quiet. The stop/start is barely noticed compared to my wife's Polo and my brothers golf. Engine is refined and smooth. Was just enjoying cruising along that it reminded me of driving the hybrid Lexus, so quiet when foot is off the accelerator and doing 50-60kms per hour. Haven't tried it in sports mode yet as it's only got 55kms on the clock after today. But overall great package. Loved showing off the headlights and turning lights, but my favourite feature would have to be the boot. One swipe of the foot and it opens with ease. Read on other forums that people had trouble as well as reviewers having trouble. Found it easy and worked every time today ( five occasions)

Yeah I saw that! My salesman reassured me I was in the best hands with their detailer so that's cool! The dealer I got my Amarok from was pretty **** but I must say that salesman there did a great job on my Amarok.

I thought the same in regards to the smoothness and quietness being like a hybrid, especially in eco mode when it uses the cruise function (disengages the gearbox and reclaims power to charge the battery). Such a nice range of driving personas, from ultra smooth to firm and agressive.

Also in relation to the boot, I think where people have had issues is when they swing their leg sideways as opposed to a forward kicking motion. I had a dealer have issues demoing it using the sideways motion, and I showed him kicking forward and it worked first time. It's the way that it describes in the manual!

Could be the sensor has a circular mounting and therefore it can be positioned at almost any angle.

I can just see it now. Some of us kick forward. Some of us sweep right while others sweep left. The remaining group just dances around in a random fashion
