I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Hi guys. I stumbled across this thread while trying to find out where to buy a Highline 162TSI.

Before reading some of the posts, I thought I'd be able to swan into a local dealer and drive away with an ex-demo, or at least order one and take delivery a month later.

In exchange for a laugh at my expense/naivety, can anyone tell me what sort of lead times we're looking at for orders placed around now?

Last l Heard, it's getting to be around the June mark.

I heard there is a chance of a sept nov wait. I think if you have time to hunt around you might be lucky with a June or pre Sept

I think it is July/August now depending on what options you get maybe sooner. This has been what my friends have been told who ordered with all 3 options in Jan. Back in December when myself and others ordered with all 3 options we were told around May maybe June or so.

Yup.. that price and no sunroof either. That's the problem with in demand vehicles.

Thanks hcvo1. My car was released from production around the same date, so hoping it will be on that vessel. Although, I've entered my VIN on the wilhelmus wallenius tracking site and it doesn't come up yet.

I'm afraid not, but yeah, there are a whole bunch on there. I'll keep trying! Sorry to hear yours isn't either.

Yes and it's a demo with 1,500km on it. It should be selling for ~$54-55k given people have negotiated new cars for $56k.

I think mine and yours are sitting in the parking lot waiting to hitch a ride to Australia together.... lets hope it is not on the TAMESIS which is the next ship out on the 06/02 it is taking the long way round via the US... It probably won't be allowed into the US with Trump and all...

I tested this car, its at Doncaster it will be available for purchase in a month after they get a replacement for it and you can bet it will have more then 1500km when that happens. I got the same car new for $60k expected sometime after June. Low prices for these you won't see anymore the demand is huge.
