I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Thanks IK8. The Carr & Haslam tracking system says that mine will be delivered the 25th of December. A bit weird to take that long..., but then again, I will have it registered as a 2017, as agreed and confirmed (NZ_GolfR !!!). I notice I'm pretty excited, but now I also realise why; in New Zealand this is the first new car I've ordered that wasn't already in NZ. When I lived in Europe all new cars also already were ready for delivery, here, and now, in NZ, the excitement builds up, which to me is a fascinating process. I didn't expect myself to grow this excited about it.

I am glad I am not the only one who's getting excited. I very much doubt that Carr & Haslam will deliver on Christmas day as the dealers won't be there to receive them. I see that the Tarago is still berthed in AKL, was supposed to leave at 20:00. Probably the weather. I am just happy that the car is off the ship. Just hope there are no mishaps between AKL and the BOP

Thanks Mac, I think the only one I had seen with the 162TSI engine, but not with R-line package, was one in Habanero, in a Swedish winter (snow) setting (A VW presentation for car journalists). You probably have seen that already, as there are a few different reports from that session.

Have seen this one. Surprised that there are no European reviews of the 162 by now. It has been available for a few months there in some markets. Equally not surprised about the lack of local reviews. The way things are going the first 162 reviews will come from our NZ friends on this forum!!

Actually, that's a different one. The one I saw was a TDI, where as this is a TSI. Not sure if 132 or 162 though?

Oh dear, you're right, now I'm in doubt if I've seen a 162kw Tiguan at all, anywhere...

Are you also on German Forums? Though without a proper video report, the first few that have experienced the 162kw are without exception very enthusiastic about the engine, how silent on the one hand, and how (pleasantly) sporty on the other hand. One person had the impression that the sound changed when put in Sport, but he thought it could relate to a change of revs in Sport mode.

Yeah, I read through them. The few that have them there are the only accounts of the 162TSI that I've heard. I guess we're just going to have to be patient! With the first shipment coming in January we should get some local reviews soon, and of course, we'll be able to take one for a test drive soon!
