There is another ship the Parsifal, from the same shipping line docking in Auckland on the 22/12/16. It too has R-Lines on board. The Aussie guys will be able to get details off the website or calculate ETA's from the table above.
My R-Line plus TungstenR's were discharged from the ship at around midday today. Mine has already been booked on Carr & Haslam road transport so could be arriving next week. TungstenR if you go onto Carr & Haslams website you should also be able to track your car, just enter the last 6 No's of the VIN No.

I just heard back from dealer just now. The boat is due in the 22nd and they reckon they will have it 23/24th which is pretty quick but guess it only has to travel from the port to the North Shore. Also confirmed that VW definitely want these registered in December so no luck with getting it as a 2017 rego.
Only issue is I am away from the 22nd until about the 27th so will have to wait until I am back before I can get it.

My R-line has already been discharged and booked on the Carr & Haslam road transporter for it's 250km trip South to Tauranga. Who knows may even be here for the weekend, although I will only officially take delivery after the New Year. I find it strange that your dealer insists that your vehicle has to be registered this year? My dealer was happy to defer registration of my car until 2017. Will recomfirm with them tomorrow

Let me know what they say tomorrow as they told me it was VW that wanted them all registered in December. They are also keen to get hold of my car so they can list it and try and move it before January. I told them I can drop it in to them before I go away for Xmas if they can hold the registration until January so will see if that motivates them otherwise I will hold onto mine until I get back. Would be good to be able to confirm other dealers are waiting until January if that is the case.

Thanks IK8. The Carr & Haslam tracking system says that mine will be delivered the 25th of December. A bit weird to take that long..., but then again, I will have it registered as a 2017, as agreed and confirmed (NZ_GolfR !!!). I notice I'm pretty excited, but now I also realise why; in New Zealand this is the first new car I've ordered that wasn't already in NZ. When I lived in Europe all new cars also already were ready for delivery, here, and now, in NZ, the excitement builds up, which to me is a fascinating process. I didn't expect myself to grow this excited about it.

LOL, I've checked every YT video for the T2 R-line 162kw (nothing yet) and the German VW Tig2 forum, I found some pictures already and some pretty enthusiastic first responses. Also some remarks about missing USB slots/incomplete packages, but mostly only very, very enthusiastic responses.

I haven't looked at YT for a few days but have you tried looking for reviews of the European spec 220ps aka 162?I'm guessing you have but just a thought......

Thanks Mac, I think the only one I had seen with the 162TSI engine, but not with R-line package, was one in Habanero, in a Swedish winter (snow) setting (A VW presentation for car journalists). You probably have seen that already, as there are a few different reports from that session.

Which one was that? One of the first I saw was the Autogefuhl one in Sweden (in the snow) but that was Ruby Red with a TDI.
