One thing I've noticed on the new Tigs that I've seen on the road - there's a black foamy protection that is behind the number plate, but it's sized for euro plates as opposed to the standard NSW white plates. So the ones I've seen on the road have the black stuff visible either side of the number plate. Not a big deal, and a common theme for European cars, but it has made me decide to transfer the black euro plates from my current car to the Tiguan when it comes time for them to do the paperwork.

Anyone expecting their car to arrive in Aus early Jan - for delivery late Jan. Anyone know if the black plastic holder can be removed and the plate fixed direct? If I get chance this week I'll pop into the dealer to have a look.

For those who've got their Tig with the sunroof, could you please test something out for me?
When you use the auto-open feature (2nd click position of the roof open switch) does your roof open absolutely all the way to the end? I just noticed lately that whilst I thought mine opened fully, if I then manually pulled the switch again and held it, the roof actually opened a bit further, maybe another inch or so.
Hope this makes sense, thanks.

This no review thing is killing me. Has anyone found a 162 'tis review yet?
You know considering tha VW isn't releasing the 177kw diesel, it's weird they are releasing the same motor in the Skoda..2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

Until there's a 162TSI in the country, there won't be any reviews. I'd expect something in January.
For the 177kw diesel, I watched two separate video reviews a few months back and the presenters mentioned something along the lines of "if you're expecting that 'pushed back in the seat' acceleration feeling then you may be disappointed". Considering that both the 162TSI and 177kw bi-turbo diesel achieve the same 0-100 (6.5 seconds), I'm not sure why there is so much love for the diesel unless you do a lot of kms.

I still remember waiting for my Tiguan 147 (new model in 2009) for over 7 months.
