I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

They told me last weekend that if I ordered a new Tiguan today. I "MIGHT" see it next July 2022. I would think that any "R" would be the same.

This has been my thinking all along. That if there are delays to the regular tiguan surely it would impact the R.

I spoke to the dealer today and he was adamant the R launch is being prioritised for the Feb launch. When I questioned him about the lack of spec sheets he said they've emailed vw Australia multiple times with no response regarding pricing. That said he's seemingly confident they'll get their demo car in Feb.

There will be a delay for sure. It's hard to say how long though.

I have another update. The DP just called me. He said their car has been delayed to March, but there are 180 Rs scheduled to come into Australia in the first quarter.

He also said Australian dealers are expecting an announcement on the 8th Dec. He doesn't know what is being announced but it's about the R launch

The ‘service due in x days’ in the vehicle screen, for new vehicles is that from the handover date or compliance date? E.g say if a vehicle is manufactured in April, arrives in the country in July and the purchaser buys it in October, at what date should 12 month service be due. Or is it based on when the dealer ‘activates’ the vehicle?

It should show on the screen when it comes due and depends on whether the dealer updated it or not. Mine was left at 365 days from build date but dealers usually update it to their presale date inspection. Wont be SFA that will sit in dealers for more than a few days at present as there is a 6 month wait for one

Still waiting on my new Tiggy to be delivered. It arrived at Port Melbourne on 30th Oct, and has spent the last 4 weeks sitting on the wharf before moving to Prixcar Altona Nth where it is currently been sitting for an additional 2 weeks. I had to contact VW Au to find out what the issue was for dealer delivery, but got little help. They saying that they had no idea and to contact the dealer. The dealer is basically saying that they have no idea and dependent on VW Au. Round and around we go.
I did however manage to get some action, as it was destined to be with Prixcar until 20th Dec. Now they are bringing that date forward to 16th, so I may get my July build just before X-Mas. So that would make over 5 months from being built to delivery to the dealership.

After much drama with VW Au, I am finally getting my Tiggy on Tuesday. Was to get it on monday, but the dealer said that they had no staff who could register it.
