My nine month wait is nearly over, but the last 48 hours is dragging like hell. Collection after work tomorrow.
Nice! I am sitting here tracking the Grand Hero as it makes the slow voyage over, I feel like I was better off not knowing it was on a boat and getting on with my life

In fairness the wait for it to be built was not that bad. The 3 weeks on a boat was fun watching its progress. Even the couple of weeks between the boat docking and confirmation of the delivery date was ok. But **** the last couple of days have dragged. It better be ready when I get there in an hour to collect it.
Back in the VW world with a 2023 T Roc R, Silver with black roof.
Hey guys, new to the forum here, picked up my Tiguan last Friday, got the roof wrapped on Saturday and think it is the best VW i have owned! well worth the wait
I didn't hear of a sit in at a Perth VW dealership, so I guess you're still driving it around
Yep it was waiting for me as promised and after some final detailing, I got to drive it away. Coming from a 2013 LR Discovery TDV6,the first impression was how small it was and a lot less bulky. No idea how it all works, but I did notice the steering wheel firming up when I started to drift out of lane. So I assume something in the DAP was helping me out. Photos later if I can figure out how to post them up.

Mine is also on 'Grand Hero'.
Lost track of it down the west coast of Africa. Last update was 3 days ago. Hope it hasn't sunk or been taken by pirates. ☺

Yep theres a dead spot in the tracking until it turns up off the Horn of Africa, same deal when it passes Madagascar into the Indian Ocean....can you tell I was obsessed?!?
I believe if you pay for the premium GPS tracking you can watch it all the way.....but I'm not quite THAT sad!
Well I finally picked up the Tiguan today and I must say I'm extremely disappointed that
1) they haven't fitted the Lakin plate holders correctly:
a) they didn't fit the front backing plate and instead attempted to screw the plate / holder directly into plastic bracket and bumper. It is now loose and flapping around and I have screws holes in my bumper.
b) there is something wrong with the rear plate and there is foam tape hanging underneath the plate
2) the car was dirty
Brighton Volkswagen have taken no care in the way they prepared the vehicle.

I have to agree on their plate fitting. My wife said the screw fell out of our license plate last week and the plate was just hanging. We almost lost the plate. Same thing, no backing plate, just straight into the plastic bracket

The annoying thing is that I went to the effort of providing the Lakin brackets to get a clean look for the custom plates.
They fitted the rear one (poorly) but didn't fit the front one. I hope they haven't just thrown it out as Lakin is closed for the year.

I’d be asking to speak to head of department whomever in charge of pre-delivery. Can’t believe they’d treat a ~$60k vehicle like that
I pick up my fully loaded 162 from South Yarra next Friday, though I couldn’t get Lakin, I have provided other holders with full instructions. Hoping they do a good job. Will post after pick up.
I ordered a 162TSI with all options back in July and it is on the Morning Camilla docking in Melbourne tomorrow morning. I am super excited!!!
Hi fiendish, my fully loaded 162 also on Morning Camilla Current eta in Melbourne appears to have slipped a couple of days and is now 22nd, according to the tracking app anyway......
I have to wait even longer till it gets offloaded in Brisbane Still confident of getting it before xmas though
