Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Does anyone know anything about an option for a QI wireless charger at the bottom of the centre console where the USB and AUX ports are? A few articles I have read mentioned this, some say it comes with it and others say it is an option. Not sure if it is available in just some countries.
I am hopefully going to call in to my local dealer tomorrow to have a look at the Highline they have in there so will see if it has it or not.

Called into the local dealer today and had a look at a few of the Highline models they had and took one for a bit of a drive.
Unfortunately the weather was rubbish so couldn't get many good photos.

Yeah the ADD is pretty amazing looking, you don't appreciate how bright and crisp it is until you see it in the flesh. I do wish you could customise it even more though.
Not sure about the maps, didn't play with the navigation at all other than just bring it up in the display to see what it looked like. Will see if I can find out next Wednesday when I have another look at the R-Line one at the launch party here.

Had a peek at one of these today - loved the enormous sunroof (not sure if it came on last model) & the all digital dash.
Does that central Map Navigation area of the dash (between the main dials) support mobile device map Apps (when you use CarPlay/Android Auto)?MY16 MK7 Golf GTI

Thanks for sharing the pic's, much appreciated. Just remember the "R" Line you will be seeing next Wednesday is actually "Something That Glitters But Is Not Gold" I am sure you will know what I mean.
Would be interested to hear what your driving impressions were? as most of my impressions I have been given so far were from British Tiguan owners.
Did you get an answer from your dealer regarding the QI wireless charger. With regard to those white speedo and tacho needles, I am hoping that Volkswagen NZ is going to reserve the red ones for the proper R Line when it lands here at the end of the year. The other cool thing that would be nice is when the ignition is turned on and the 2 needles flick over in a complete arc to the right and then back again, something I have only seen in the GTI and the

With regards to the driving impressions of the Highline it was a bit of a shame that it was a wet afternoon with a fair it of traffic but it did give me a chance to see how it gripped in the wet. I was really surprised how quiet and smooth it was. I do need to remember that this is a very different car, I am coming from a MK6 Golf R which I have upgraded to Stage 1+ with intake, DCC that I nearly always have set on Sport mode and has 19" wheels, so what I am saying is I am used to something that is rather noisy and quite a rough ride. I was a little disappointed that it didn't feel as sporty but then the R Line has the 20" wheels and I am pretty sure the one that I drove didn't have the DCC (this is the one that I drove: Volkswagen Tiguan 4WD TDI Highline 2016 | Trade Me) so the R Line should feel more sportier. Overall the car did drive very nicely and felt really nice and roomy inside. It held the road the road really well, I tried throwing it into a few corners and even in the wet couldn't get it to step out at all but it was only the 110kw TDI, the 162kw TSI might help achieve that more
I did get to try out the Forward Collision Warning, not intentionally though. I have to admit I was slightly distracted changing the setup on the Active Info Display and didn't notice the traffic slowing in front of me and the next thing I know the car is beeping and me with a warning showing on the ADD and it started braking for me. It did startle me which made me jump on the brakes which I guess is the who point of it and prevented me rear ending the demo car which could have been embarrassing
One thing I was slightly disappointed with was the sound of the speakers, just didn't think it had an much bottom end bass. I do like my music to sound good, so much so that I spent a fair bit of time and effort installing an Alpine AMP and Tyre R component speakers in the front of my Golf which made a huge difference. I have asked my dealer to find out if they can get my R Line optioned with the DYNAUDIO system, they are finding out so really hoping they can as I have read some really good things about this system.
I forgot to ask the dealer about the QI charger but I know none of the ones they had there had it in them.
For the needle sweep is this what you are after: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwaeuqPvQj4
It looks like it only does this on the Passat models, the Tiguans seem to have the animation of the Tiguan driving on and off the screen. The needles do the sweep on my R which is cool but this display is cool in it own way even if they don't have the needles sweeping.Current Ride: 2019 CUPRA Ateca in Energy Blue with Bucket Seats

Went into my local dealer today. They had two 132TSi Comfortlines. One with DAP, the other with the luxury pack.
First impressions very good. Heaps of room, the leather seats are extremely comfortable and easy to get in and out of. The panoramic sunroof is massive and even with it there was heaps of headroom.
I like Active Info Display, but my wife says we can do without it (she said it's just something else that can go wrong haha).
Still an embargo on driving the cars. And NADCON is still not accepting orders for the 162TSi Highline (I watched the dealer try and do it). He keeps asking but VW Aus still don't have a firm date of when they'll be able to places orders for the petrol highline. He's hoping it will be in the next few weeks.
I understand the first Highline/R-line diesels will land in Western Australia around October 14. The dealer's words, not mine

Yes it does. Also it looks like if you don't get the sunroof in the R Line then you don't get the extra sunglasses storage running along the roof line like you do in the Highline which is good since I thought it looked a little odd.

Or the 240v inverter... That was one thing that I was very interested in from looking at the overseas sites and thought it would be great for camping.
Had a look yesterday at local dealer and was very impressed. Boot size was pretty good and liked the idea of the sliding rear seats but not sure how practical they will be.
Very comfortable up front and loved the digital dash, hopefully the dealer delivery includes a bit of time to go through it all and explain how to use it properly.
Have put a deposit down and signed for a 162TSI in white with DAP, Sunroof and R-Line. Just awaiting the system to be open so that orders can go in.
Would also be very interested to see what aftermarket side steps become available as I think they could really add to the looks if done right.
