  • Tiguan R line, about time

Finally got around to having a few things installed since we I picked up a 2023 Tig R line AS back in June for the Mrs. We were lucky to get all the options except the side assist so bugged me it was missing. All installed now and decided to go with stain silver R mirror covers, paddle shifters, button cause why not, and some VW door warning lights. If I can only figure out how to install the back doors since no rear door module Added the missing manifold cover too as just looked odd without it. Oh, had to do something about those ugly chrome fake exhaust tips. Doesn't stand out so much now its Black I guess

I did the door warning lights on a 2019 but cant remember what it took but I got the wiring off the net so if you google " adding puddle lights to Tiguan doors " you might find it

Guessing 2019 had rear door modules...2023 got cost cuts lol. Heard about tapping into window switch loom or front scuff plate for the rear doors but seems a bit ghetto. Might have no choice but my front doors are done properly at least

Luckily, we ordered my wife the MY22 (facelift) allspace before the 'semiconductor optimizations'. I made sure several times during the delivery delay that it would have all the features - otherwise we would have cancelled the order.

Can I ask where you purchased the paddle shifter extensions?

The 4 week wait time is what sold it to us. Dealer was owed a favour from another dealer and we jumped at it. Every dealer told us forget it, orders were backed up to Dec this year. They all tried to offload the Adventure instead. Kufatec kit and support was pretty good

I forgot to ask are they the ones that use double sided tape?

Where did you get the blind spot indicators from and was it just plug and play? i'm wanting to do this to my R line as well.

Got it from Kufatec but the price has doubled since I got mine

Side Assist incl. Rear Traffic Alert for VW Tiguan BW2, BJ2

Its a kit and came with unpainted covers but I bought R satin silver ones. Best bet would be maybe finding used locally from wrecker? Need to fit 2 radars so rear bumper off and feed the loom to front. Also wiring through front doors.

Late reply but I will give you my update on this

Hey guys. I just picked up a brand new Rline 162kw Tiguan Allspace for my wife for only $49000 without sunroof and HK sound system. But what a cracker deal. Leather, cooling and heating seats. Just missing the blind spot and rear cross traffic. But i did some deep diving and spoke to the GM of this company as he highly recommended this item, which he claims has been tested and is even more responsive and accurate than the original, as the new models run 79hz frequency compared to 24hz. You can read this on Texus Instruments website about the advantages. Easy to install and not expensive.
Blind Spot Detection System Radar (BSD)by Parksafe | Burg Design

Also, you dont need to remove your rear bar to install. Yes there are $100 ones out there, but dont do it. They work on a old frequency and as humans, when we begin to rely on technology and it fails, we could hurt someone in the process. The one I got (and I paid $299 on ebay from the same company) is good as parksafe has been around for a long time.

I now just need to figure out how to add puddle lights on the side mirrors and auto open / close touch entry as the front handles. Such as cheap thing and they leave it out.

I also purchased the $20 cable to deactivate the stop start function and I can confirm it works as I have it on my 2023 Arteon and TROC.

                        Hope this helps.
