  • Water pump and timing belt quote

My Tiguan- 140TDI has done 105,000 and was advised 2250 for water pump and timing belt by VW. Is this right price ?

Looking at some dated post in 2015 for 1300, has the price doubled in this time ?

Also NOx sensor replacement of 1600

Id be getting a few other prices from independent VW specialist mechanics such as Canberra VW Centre or Northside Euros.

$2250 does sound very expensive for the 105,000km service. And im sure you can get a new NOx sensor for much less than $1600.

I've never changed a nox sensor on a Tiguan. But there normally only a couple of hundred dollars and pretty easy to access and replace. You should be able to do it yourself if your handy with cars?

buy urself a waterpump / therm off ebay for $300ish and take it to a mechanic to install for probably $300 if u cant do it urself.

It shouldnt take more than 2 - 3 hours for an experienced mechanic with all the tools to finish
