Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Banging noise under the Tig.

Hi all. I have a banging sound coming from under front seats of my 2016 Tiguan.

It sound like something to do with the suspension as it only occurs on rough road surface.

I am no mechanic but I climbed under the Tig but everything has plastic under covering.

So before I start removing the covering, any ideas of what I should be looking for?

Probably the connection you removed from the battery banging around under the bonnet

    Mamba Ebike to replace Tiguan

It could be one of the plastic under tray parts flapping around at speed. Get under the car and give them all a good knock with your hand to see if any have been hit/damaged and could be moving around when the car is moving.

Thanks Lucas, as I am no mechanic, based your post I think I will get it inspected professionally.
        Thanks again.
