MY21 147TDI Elegance

We have ordered a a new Tiguan 147 Elegance that was unsold on the VW website.

Signed the deal 2 weeks ago.

The dealer is in a regional area and we are in Metro so we have paid for the door to door delivery to us.

The vehicle was delivered from the Melbourne holding yard (Prixcar) and delivered to the dealership last Friday.

Wife and I are impatiently waiting the call so I rang the dealer today to get an update.

Apparently VW Australia have put a hold on delivery because a software update is required and the dealer cannot legally register the vehicle (in VIC) until the update is installed.

Has anyone heard of VW Aust doing this for any vehicles (inc Tiguan) or am I being spun a yarn?

No they didn't elaborate

Apparently the update related to the camera used for the AEB and other safety systems that resides in the windscreen. It affected all Golfs and Tiguans according to the sales guy who called to confirm is its ready to go.

Got confirmation of the VIN and rego this morning and now awaiting the carrier to pickup from the regional dealership and deliver to my door.

A quick update on the 147TDI Elegance.

We had an issue with eth ventilation where the driver's side centre air vent wasn't passing any air. Wife didn't pick up on it but I did when I finally got to drive.

Booked in for the warranty work (prior to Xmas) and had it done today.

Apparently a rod that connects and actuates flaps in the dash to direct the air was not connected.

A big shout out to the friendly service at Ferntree Gully Volkswagen for fixing the issue today!
