Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Replacing front and rear indicator globes with LED? (New Tiguan Life)

    Hey guys,

First post on this site - great to be on board. I've just sold my Mk7 Golf and ordered a Tiguan Life... it arrives next Thursday and I'm super excited!

Wondering if anyone has any experience with replacing standard globes for LEDs?

The good news is that the Tiguan has LED headlights and brakelights. The bad news is that the front and rear indicators, and I believe the reversing lights, are still standard incandescent globes.

I'm wondering if I can replace these with LEDs. Ideally I'd like to use brand-name globes rather than anonymous ones from eBay. Has anyone done this, and if so, where did you source your LED globes?

    Cheers and thanks!
    Mike

Congrats on the incoming new car. Try illumo or Supanova for good quality LED's. I have some of the iilumo canbus LED's on my car and they work well and dont upset the cars canbus monitoring system.
