hop on the VW website and look for VW approved repairers. The only way to keep your VW warranty (for the affected components). I know each repair show will give its own warranty for the work completed but imagine if you are having issues with the park assists then you have to prove to VW it was a system issue and not a result of bad repair. Or having a discussion with repair shop that its not a fault of the VW subsystem but a faulty repair. Also the park assist and self park system need to be calibrated by VW.

Thanks mate for the heads up. Have picked one of the approved VW repairers from the VW website and will be taking in next week to get it assessed
They did my Passat at the dealers after had a windscreen replaced as they will have the aiming board etc all set up. Insurances windscreen guy did the screen there as well.
So i guess they will do yours at the dealers
How much damage did it get
2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B
Mamba Ebike to replace Tiguan
Front bumper, headlamp and grill needs replacing as far as I can tell. Front camera damaged as well as parking sensors.
Don't know if the front radar cruise control is damaged or anything structural behind these parts.
Could have been worse but noticed at last second a deranged crazy girl accelerating and speeding through a red light after I had started when the lights went green. Worse thing is I stopped to let the nut job through to avoid a collision and she could have slowed or steered 2-inches to go around me but instead kept accelerating straight into me and making no effort to avoid the collision.
The front number plate was mashed. Do you know is the number plate replacement covered by insurance ?

Insurance covers number plates.
You will need to arrange the replacement through your local licencing authority and then seek reimbursement for costs from the insurance.
You can have any plate remade to the original rego instead of getting new ones.
I have Euro plates that needed repair from an accident and it took about 3 weeks for service NSW to remake a new set. You just take the old ones off and hand them over when ready.

Does the panel beater shop take it to the VW dealer to calibrate or does the VW dealer come to the panel beater to do the work ?
Not sure. It came to my attention when mum's Polo was getting repaired. VW wouldn't extend the warranty to repaired items as it wasnt done by the certified repairer. Got lucky after engaging independent vehicle inspection specialist and APIA decided to write the car off. Lesson on learned, have insurance that allows YOU to chose your repairer.

Does that mean you need to have it repaired by a VW Approved Repairer for VW to honor the 5 year warranty ?
It was never black and white as I spoke to VW Australia in general terms they said they "may" not support components replaced by not accredited repairers. In my mum's case it was left front from bumper bar including park sensors and AEB all the way to the rear door including all components like door control modules, central locking power windows etc. APIA said it covered by their repair warranty... For a car with 1300kms it was risk and Im glad independent inspector managed to get the car written off.
As I am getting the front bumper replaced (due to the red light numb nuts driver), am I right to assume new front bumpers come unpainted so the whole bumper will need to be painted ?
If so, I thought this may be a good time to have plugs put in the holes so I can get rid of the black plastic under the number place as the whole bumper has to be painted and they can just paint the plugs with it ?

Yes new bumpers come unpainted so ideal time to do the numberplate hole coverup.
