Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    I was looking through the thread and the options available. I came across a whiteline rear sway bar for the Mk7 R for $290. This is from Sparebox.

    Whiteline BWR25XZ Swaybar 24mm X H/Duty Blade Adjustable | Sparesbox

    This is a 24mm

    There is a 22mm for $260

    Should this fit just like the 034 listed from Autoimstruct ? A lot more economical as an upgrade.

      Yes that should fit.

      Otherwise get the Superpro bar which comes with end links in the kit. This is the one I bought and had no issues: SuperPro Rear 24mm Adjustable Swaybar & Link Kit Fits Audi VW RC0052RZ-24KIT | Sparesbox

      It's also on 20% off sale at the moment which works out to $313.56 . So not much more than the Whiteline but you get the end links too.

        Hey Jim2fast4u, I bought mine 29th of June with that same discount.
        I was informed there is a delay on delivery so expect a bit of a wait. Tigger's was delayed also by I think a few weeks?

          Thanks for the info guys. I saw that one on there and wasn’t 100% sure on fitting kit.

          I will chat with my mechanic as I was also looking at fitting DBA T3 4000s on the front.

          Was there an ETA provided to you veew

            I’ve been waiting for mine since the 23rd of May, but it should be dispatched next week (hopefully).

                I ordered my Superpro bar on the 21 May, confirmed I wanted to continue waiting for the order on 27 May and received the sway bar on the 24 June. Not sure if that helps anyone but around a month wait.

                I had some creaks/noises from the rear the other week and have since re-torqued the bolts and haven't heard anything since.

                  Been noticing a few Tig's in the US running MK7 Golf R springs, so decided to do some research into spring rates, specifically vs. Tig Eibach springs:

                  MK7 Golf R
                  Front = 190 lbs/in
                  Rear = 245 lbs/in

                  Eibach Pro Kit (Tiguan)
                  Front = 205 lbs/in
                  Rear = 290 lbs/in

                  If anyone out there is looking into some lowering springs, hopefully this will help you.
                  I'm already running Eibach's so this info doesn't help me, but it did scratch my curiousity itch.

                    How's the handling now that you've had a few weeks to test it out? Has the sway bar reduced much body roll?

                      It sits a lot flatter and turn-in is improved.

                      Nil down-sides.

                              Sparesbox, apparently Superpro were waiting on bearings for the endlinks??

                                I finally got mine today too! Fortunately didn't wait 3 months but the 6 weeks did feel like it was alot longer than that!!
                                I didn't receive any tracking numbers etc so it was a pleasant surprise.
