Hi, is there a way to manually close the power tailgate? Say you are carrying a large item sticking out the back?
Cheers
If you're in a SWB; with the car on, sit in the driver's seat and hold the tailgate button up (the one on the driver's door). Let go once it reaches a height you're happy with. Would probably require someone to 'spot' you.
Otherwise, close the tailgate how you usually would, and once it hits the object, it'll stop, retract back a few inches, then come to rest.

Only works if the engine is running

Yes. I’ve done it a couple of times. It’s pretty stiff/resistive- especially for the first 2-3cm of travel. But once it detects manual input, it must react electronically/electrically and the magnetic force of the motor(s) stops.
