Looks like Skoda is a writeoff with the insurance online showing 'awaiting settlement' and the insurance help desk lady telling me that someone from the total loss team will contact me soon(tm) about the finer details.
So decided to pull the pin and get the missus another car for the interim until the cash comes through ... sourced a 2018 Tiguan and surprised the missus absolutely loves it! Didn't take a lot of convincing after she saw the newer Skoda RS and hated the alcantara seats. It is what I was eyeing off to replace my 2011 Tig, so now whether or not to keep the older Tig after it has been fixed ...
The car yards were absolutely packed last weekend ... so definitely turning into a sellers market in Canberra at the moment ...

Haha yeah, the wife convinced me to get her a golf today “because it reminds her of the Tiguan” and she wasn’t interested in the new Octavia either. I’m very aware of the dealers being packed, we ended up taking to some Sydney ones but the local one was able to deal
