I have seen it, must say I'm not a fan of the SUV coupes. If I'm driving an SUV, I would prefer the practicality that usually goes with it.
    Current:
    2017 Mk2 Tiguan 162TSI, R-line, White
    2020 Mk7.5 Golf R Wagon, White

Definitely agree, cannot see the point of SUV coupes.

Definitely see where you’re coming from, but if I had the choice between an Urus and a Tig, I know what I’d choose...

I was in this camp until I saw the new Q3 Sport with it's coupe like profile. Very similar to the T-Roc and for my wife who wants a higher riding car, but doesn't need the practicality of Wagon load area of normal SUVs, it's a good alternative.

Is there going to be a MY20.5 or another update before the 2021 model?

Here's a video of the new Tiguan R with Akrapovic exhaust. Commentary is in German but you can hear the exhaust and get a tour around the car:

LC 0-100 is at the 5:07 mark. I'm surprised by the lack of exhaust note though... maybe it's the camera quality, but it sounds awfully similar to a res delete + open CAI.

Yes I like Autogefuhl, however this was the first video I'd seen of start and drive of the new Tiguan R. All the others had been static walk around. Unfortunately I don't speak much German but you do get to hear they've installed a Soundaktor in and run fake noise into the cabin .

Anyone know when we can expect the Facelift to surface in Oz?

well, the crappy reverse camera is a worry, and the fake exhaust isn't a great look either...

will have to start looking for some pricing to compare with current model, or wait for the facelift

It’s probably the same camera as the current golf/Tiguan/polo. May have had a bad one installed in the test car.m
The current allspace has the fake exhaust vents too
At least on the diesel- so even stupider!

Well I like the styling of the facelift but glad I have real buttons.

I think the same thing has happened with Mk8 Golf is that the engineers have been tasked with removing cost from the cars. The same thing happened with the Mk1.5 Tig facelift. A number of people felt the build quality went down as the engineers refined each component.

I’ve never liked the front lights part of the mk2 Tiguan. Doesn’t look ‘nice’
The mk7/7.5 golf and Passat front ends are much better.

So if this mk8 front end and improvements to drivetrain/interior tech were the only changes from mk2, it’d be good for me.

Like everything though, we’ll get used to touch surfaces pretty quick. They’ve been all the rage in the luxury brands (Land Rover group especially) for the last 3-4 years, and they get positive reviews.
