  • "Please have your vehicle inspected" - wolfsburgh 2018

    Hi all

Been thoroughly enjoying the wolfsburgh so much that haven't been online in a while haha. Done about 5000kms and recently been getting this pop up on the dash when powering on/off the tig. Says "Please have your vehicle inspected". Seen this on a 2016 tig YouTube which shows how to reset it though wanted to check why this with you guys if anyone has experienced this or would know why this would be popping up prior to testing that. Had the car about 9months now so not even due for a check up.

    Cheers
    Ron

No, but I would get it inspected

Personally I think 15K kms is a long time for a new car. I had mine checked at 7.5K kms and got the oil replaced.

+1 for the 7.5k oil and filter change i want mine to last over 250k so its a no brainer
Vw and others stretch the interval on everything so that 5 year cost of services looks good on paper
Because so many are unwilling to invest in servicing their car properly
A good case is the new dq 381 7 speed wet clutch the interval has gone out to 120k no way would i let mine go that long asking for issues and trouble
Anyone remember the sealed for life issue?
      Doing mine every 60k

A lot of talk with no facts as usual in talks concerning servicing intervals. Every time this subject is raised the same thing happens.....VW don't know what they are talking about by people who definitely don't know. Blunt but true.

If you want facts ok i will supply one for you
My wifes old polo tdi 1.6 was serviced at the standard 15k intervals usually by vw i persuaded her to take it to my mechanics for the 75k service
I get a phone call from them saying there is 1 litre of diesel in the sump along with the oil! Wife usless at managing dpf burns
So that is why i do a 7.5k oil change on my diesel fuel contamination of sump oil from dpf burns!

I’m curious how they’d differentiate between the diesel and the oil in the sump....

Well if they drain 5 liters out of a 4 liter sump and the extra is not water i think it would be obvious

                  Hey Ron,
Have you booked in yet for a check up?

No haven't yet though due to do so soon. Wanted to confirm this was not a known issue and not related to anything specifically.

What should i be getting them to check/replace on check up?

That is what happened to you and not everyone else. Branding every VW with your experience is not necessary, I have had both the petrol & diesel VW's and never experienced what your mechanic found.

I used to own a workshop and been in the automotive trade for many years so take this for what it is worth, I have never seen anyone measure the oil quantity when it is changed in our workshop or anyone else's.
