Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Bogan or otherwise is not the point. VW have assured me theirs is a premium product, and they sure as hell charge a premium price for servicing, but their attention to detail in services is way less than premium. 2 out of 3 I suppose [emoji849]

Yeah, I can see it being true- not that JD is the oracle of truth.

Compared with Mazda, Ford, Suzuki, Hyundai and Citroen, I’d put VW 4th- for reliability and 4th for company/dealer integrity (Ford last)

Speaking of service- my first service only covered oil and filter change- at least so far as ticks in the logbook are concerned. No other checks weren’t ticked. But at least it only cost about $400...

Not to mention it’s not AU company, so all their reports don’t relate to our market.
