Golf R rear muffler now fitted through the blanking plates but I decided to leave the chrome section in place as I think it'll look a little odd on the R-line body kit without it.
The sound is pretty insane pops at every gear change and the crackle is on another level!!! Saying that would be fine the circuit but is waaaaay to loud for my ears just with normal driving! I was s**ting bricks at one stage as police followed me for ages shortly after leaving the place but thankfully turned away!!!
So the remedy is to install the centre resonator to hopefully quieten things down. Otherwise I'm not sure what to do...
I was planning on installing the Golf resonator but we ran out of time at the work shop as this took around 5 hrs to install the custom pipework etc, plus another guy was getting his car fitted with a custom 4" turbo back system, so time waisted there.
Here's some pics - Was hard picking the tips as most didn't fit through the trim piece or were just plain ugly!
No vids yet, a bit late now. I will try take some tomorrow on a quiet road. Definitely be putting some sort of res in there as its annoying my ears and at the small risk of losing some power! However this would suit those younger the me haha

Get the valves put on and the controller

Unfortunately we had to cut the valves off as where the original bends was would've been a restriction to extend the pipes to the valance. It's amazing how short the width is of the Golf R tail tips compared to the Tiguan. Rear muffler lines up perfectly on the mounts and iooks identical in shape/size to the Tiguan's just without the added valves. Saying this the tail tips are no where to be seen behind the bumper hence the extention by roughy 30cm each spout.

Was it easy to leave the home bits of the blanking plate on?
Are there easily separable from each other, or did you have to cut out the blanking piece?

Yes, actually it was easier to remove just the black plastic piece and leave the chrome surround in place. It's like tongue and groove kinda thing that attaches it to the chrome surround. We just prised it with a thin trim tool and used another tool to stop going back in place. Very simple to do and will come out quite easily with patience.
Also on the back of the bumper there is a thin plastic lining which you can leave in place or remove, I've left mine in place as it just looked cleaner.
Also on the Highline/R-Line bodykit if you removed the chrome section i'll expose quite a large section of the bumper and thought it'll look odd if not from the front but would definitely be from the side on profile.
Curious to know where you got the work done, and more importantly, if you'd recommend them

Yes I would recommend them, thought their work to be of good quality and they had the patience to work and understand what I wanted and gave suggestions. I normally read up on reviews before I go and hand over $$$. Because mine was abit complex they charged me $580 but thats including the tail tips too. Another place in Sunshine wanted to charge $270 before doing any custom work. Some more around Melbourne had waiting period of 6-8 weeks or required the car over two business days!
Just some sound clips as requested with the Golf R rear muffler and extended pipes.
Sounds pretty good but has a high pitch drone at low revs or cruising in 7th. Cold start I didnt get a chance to get a clip as it was so loud I left quickly. My wife said it was so loud that the picture frames 3 rooms down were vibrating �� so hence why res has to go back in.
With the allspace fid you need to extend the pipe between the dp and the back box?
Want to do this mk7R mod on my car but not sure if it will fit due to the Allspace being 200mm linger than the std Tiguan

Hi Boosted_GP - The MK7 R muffler will fit straight on with maybe a slight bit of welding to attach it to the existing system. The brackets all line up perfectly so no issues in terms of fitment. You just need to extend the twin pipes each side if you would like them seen through the chrome trim surrounds. If not you could easily have downward firing like the standard Allspace with possibly the same sound effect.
