    Just an update.

My car is booked in a couple of weeks time

Confirmed list of mods to be installed:
    Snail IS38 480HP Hybrid Turbo
    CTS Downpipe/200 Cell Cat
    CTS Intercooler
    CTS Air Intake
    CTS Intake Elbow
    CTS Torque Insert
Stage 3 ECU & DSG tune

Might need the Hi-flow fuel upgrade, will see if the tuner recommends it after tuning. I've chosen to delay meth injection for now.
I may add Cat-back exhaust with extensions through fake slots but will test if I'm happy with how it sounds first.

Since I'm modifying, I'll need to update my insurance of course, does anyone have recommendations for insurers that cover modified cars???

    Thanks in advance guys.

      Bloody hell, that escalated quickly

Nice mods, I'm keen to see how it all pans out.
Which tuner have you gone with?

As for insurers, any decent insurer will cover all mods with no impact to your policy or premium. If they don't, dump them.
At the end of they day, as long as you're up front with your insurer about what you've done to your car, come claim time you won't have a problem, and any repairs to the car will be carried out as normal. If, in the worst case, your car needs to be replaced, you'll get a stock one, and you're out of pocket for the mods.

      Best of luck.

I've gone with Etuners. Estimating power at all 4's to be around 260+awkw's if all goes well, so a huge jump from roughly 130awkw's from standard.

Thanks BeeDub that's good to know, I'll see what they'll say when I add the mods to the list. It's due for renewal end of June anyway so perfect timing in a sense.

            Another update

The good - All parts are on order should arrive this week and intercooler should arrive from Canada next week.

The bad - Recent 30k service (Tuesday) went well no errors with engine/gearbox etc. However
I noticed my handbrake sounding a little strange on my driveway, so on investigation
the rear drivers side calliper, has seized with only 2mm remaining on the pad compared to 10mm on left rear. The cause from the electronic handbrake malfunctioned at some stage since the last service! They ordered the part but arrived wrong (cable version) so now have to order one from Germany or Singapore which can take 10 working days as it's on backorder!!! Surely would of thought that this would've been a common part and somewhere in Australia would stock this but clearly not!

Anyway, now I am not sure what to do with my booking for the tuner, which is booked Monday week... If I have the install done this will void my warranty and will most likely have to fork out for the calliper and labour or postpone tuner (already paid deposit) to another week when it next suits which may be troublesome??? If this problem incurred before the installation of aftermarket parts will this still count as voiding?

This issue won’t be affected by your tuning

The issue has already been identified before any modifications have been made, so they've got no argument if you go ahead with the tune as planned.

Final mods to be installed. Estimated power figure to be around 270-280kw's (362-375BHP) @ wheels. Should go really well

                    Snail IS38 480HP Hybrid Turbo
CTS MQB Downpipe with Magnaflow 200 Cell Catalyst
                    CTS 600 Intercooler
                    CTS Air Intake
                    CTS Intake Elbow
                    CTS Dog Bone Insert
                    Turbosmart Dual Port DV

Stage 3 ECU & DSG tune

Apparently the stock pump is still good unless I chase more power. I will update the cat-back exhaust later down the track with the MK7 Golf R system (seen on other threads that this fits) as I don't want the annoying drone sound and will extend to the tips.

Can you guys think of anything I could consider adding or changing???
I thought about getting the P3 multi vent gauge if this will fit the Tiguan vent (hopefully not too complicated), or best using OBDEleven apps to monitor things?

I've listed what I'm going to do to my car in the big Turbo thread if you want to take a look.
Quite similar to yours with a few extras.

                        Rays Big Brakes

Hi guys, I thought since I'm seeking the extra oomph from my engine that I better consider upgrading my front brakes. Even if just changing the OEM pads and roters, that going that slightly larger diameter or larger 6 pot would be beneficial.

I been in contact with brakesdirect.com and discussed a couple of options to fit within the 20" wheel, with either their 6 pot Alcon Monobloc & 375x32mm Alcon roter or 4 pot Alcon Monobloc 355x28mm Forza roter. I would need these to be fitted by someone, I won't attempt it myself. Are these any good, I've not heard of the brand?

Would going with known brands like AP Racing, Brembo, Leyo, APR be better?

This is mainly for street daily driving with the odd dragstrip day. So need good cold stopping power aswell as good stopping from highspeed. Also a pad that doesn't squeal in traffic.

My apologies if this has already been posted, all I seen was about pads.

                        Cheers

Racing Line have a pretty decent setup that should fit.

You havent heard of Alcon? Geez. Do yourself a favour and have a quick Google and you will see they are very well regarded and widely used in racing/motorsport worldwide.

The VW Racing / Leyo / APR calipers are more than often re-branded calipers from either Brembo, AP Racing or Alcon. These companies (VW Racing etc) do not sell a large enough quantity of calipers to justify R&D/design etc of their own calipers when perfectly capable calipers already exist.

The more sensible and no doubt much cheaper option would be to install brakes from another VAG vehicle such as the Golf R or an Audi RS3.

The Golf R brake caliper and pad is only slighly larger than the Tiguan, but the disk size is bigger so this would give better braking performance.

The RS3 caliper is a 6 piston design (similar to the Brembo/Alcon etc) options, and the disk is a good size larger than the Tiguan.
