  • 2019 Tiguan Rline - Which Steering Wheel button to Answer & Hangup Phone Call ?

How do you Answer and Hang-up a Phone Call on the 2019 Tiguan Rline Steering Wheel ?

I thought on previous VW's there was a dedicated 'phone button' but I don't see one on the 2019 version ?

I only see a Voice button for Voice Prompts > Navigation / Music etc

Steering Wheel same as 2019 Rline
There is no button.. this was removed in the my19's and one of the most annoying removals.

The my18.5 got rid of the esc off button but it came back in the my19 so VW engineers obviously listen to consumer feedback.

So how do people answer / hang-up a phone call from the Steering Wheel ?

Is there another button on the Steering Wheel you push that Answers / Hang's up a call ?

You either use the centre display or have the phone option up on the AID.

Not sure if the ok button answers when someone rings through but hanging up is a pain if you haven't selected any of these menus on the aid or the centre display..

          Thanks Grugly

I felt like a spastic looking at the steering wheel the other day as a call came through trying to quickly look at icons for the answer button

I ended up using the Main Centre Display to answer / hang-up

This was a really stupid move by VW to remove a dedicated phone button on the steering wheel

I will need to see if it can be done via the AID but if it requires multiple button pushes that would be really clumsy

Launch control isn't the same when you have to go through the digital menu to turn of esc!!

Considering the additional buttons they added on the my19 are the assist settings and "view" instead of the phone button..

Both of which I don't use as I leave all the assists on and the view stays on the same thing all the time..

Agreed - its not as if you change the assists every hour. You set the assists and leave them set.

It would be better if they allowed people to re-code a button to a function like Bixby on a Galaxy S10

I will have to look if the esc button is on mine

The "OK" button functions as the answer and hang up button on my MY19.5 R-Line. Not sure if this works with CarPlay/Android Auto as I've only tested it with Bluetooth.

This confused the hell out of me at first too. Though if you look in the AID, it should show you the current incoming call, and what looks like a selection around "answer".

Which is the same for hanging up. Though, you may need to scroll to the "phone" screen. Would be nice for a phone button.

Tested and works OK with the AID

If you scroll to Maps in the AID, you will need to scroll back to hang-up a call

A bit fiddly, but perhaps I will get used to it
