How do you Close the Boot from inside the Car ?

I can’t get it to work in my 2017 MY18 Sportline (base Highline spec) either.

I can pull the button up but can’t push it. If the boot is open pulling and holding does nothing.

I may look into VCDS coding to see if there’s anything in some of the adaptation channels.

Button only pulls up from the front edge and 1st time I tried it didnt work but then I read you have to pull it up and hold it until the door shuts
You can also use the right hand button (outer one) in the tail door and after about 20 secs as you walk away it will shut and lock if car is locked
So pull momentarily to open. Pull and hold till door is shut to close from seat.

It may be part of DAP I dont know apart from I have that and it works

Allspace or SWB?

It does seem that people aren’t grasping the fact that allspace cannot EVER close the boot from inside the cabin, or with the key.

Whether it can be reprogrammed, I don’t know, but off the showroom- no.

Could this be a deliberate SAFETY feature, to make sure you do not close the boot while a child is trying to get in or out of the rear seats.

Some good post rationalisation there. But the fact that some SWB models can’t close it either makes me think otherwise.
