    Hi all,

Has anyone received their Tiguan with the new generation AID? I've seen some comments in other threads that builds after December will receive the new AID. Interested to hear what you've got to say about it, whether you prefer it over the old AID (assuming most test drove with the old AID). Any documentation floating around for the new generation?

I take delivery of my Tiguan next month so assuming the build started in/after December. Sent a photo of the new AID to the sales rep and he had no idea.

Can you bring up the bird view camera on the AID? Because previously it was only displayed on the media unit

I have the new AID, The fuel and the oil are now always visible. All the alert icons are on the screen, not physical. So instead of having a shaped view, it is more trapezoidal. You can also go fullscreen for the navigation, and hide the gagues, which now show as digital along the bottom.

It's nice. At the end of the day, I run it with the gagues, as I used apple carplay mostly. It's fairly customizable. I don't have a way of comparing it to the original. It's very clear as well, I've never had a visibility issue.

I think you're referring to the "Discover Pro" system that comes with Sound and Vision.

Nice! When did you take delivery of your car? Just trying to work out if mine will have it or not. Given the dealer had no idea.

I received my Tig 2 weeks ago now. They actually had no idea about the AID coming out, actually called me in a panic thinking they had built it wrong at the factory. Though I already had known about it coming (thanks to this forum).

Sadly, it still doesn't have DRL enabled. Will have to find a VCDS cable and try and enable it.

That’s really strange, I’m almost certain I read that DRL were a feature of the MY19 Tiguan in the specification sheet. Are there no settings in your head unit to enable/disable without coding?

Does the new AID feature better TPMS?
I'm annoyed that the manual suggests the analogue cluster shows each tyre's pressure, while the AID just reports on whether pressure is low and highlights all four tyres, leaving you to work out which one it is.

I didn't mean DRL, so many features, i'm saying the wrong things. I meant DLA, the Adaptive high beams, thought they were coming on the spec sheet. There are no options for this feature that I saw.

It does have daytime running lights.

Without going too far off topic (sorry) there are at least 2 tpms used by vw.

                          1. Sensors in each wheel stem that measure pressure.

                          2. A system that uses the abs sensors to detect change in wheel speed and assume it’s a deflated tyre(likely correct, but not actually tpms)

The Tiguans we get in Aus are 2.

                            Bugger. Thanks for the clarification.
It was only because I had an issue last night and found all 4 tyres were all over the shop, and the manual referred to TPMS and the sensors.
                            Anyway, back on topic
