Replacement Black VW Badge for Tiguan - Front and Back?

Trying to help with stuff I have seen and get knocked for it.

Seeing as there is 60 pages of stuff for the Tiguan why shouldnt i try to help those who want stuff.

Some of it is quite good quality and cheap.. IE they are now selling badge cameras for the models with the badge boot handle for as little as $86 which is 9 times cheaper than VW

The black badges have only recently appeared

If you arent interested dont look quite simple

After some quick googling, second link seems to be the same product as badgeskins: VW - MK7.5 Golfs smooth VW front emblem badgeskin set

They even used one of the same images.

Maybe it's just me, but i'd prefer to purchase from badgeskins directly if presented with those two options. The fact that the badge overlay is photoshopped onto the various tig's on that eBay page, it makes me a bit skeptical.

Yes they are, they call it "inlay" or "insert"... you can choose from many colorful patterns or factory colors.

Hey iDiesel,

There is a module that sits behind the badge. The backing of the badge is solid, which has a rubbery circle on the back at the top right and on the front side it has a little hole where the rubbery circle is located. When you separate the back from the front piece, the VW emblem is see through - so this is why wrapping or plasti dipping will effect the radar. Here are pics which will hopefully make it clearer.

Your front grill is entirely black or it is a pictures effect?

Hi TIG162, Did you seperate the badge and then just refit the black backing, back onto the grill? If yes what did you do about the small hole and the top of the V? WATP

Hi All, how easy is it to remove/replace the front badge. I was getting front assist errors, vw said there a lots of stone chips and if it keeps happening to replace the badge but they would need to remove all the bumpers and grill etc to fix it and quoted around $1k to do it.

Wow, that's costly.
Is the badge it self badly stone chipped?
I would think it's just a "see through" cover that would be a few bucks to replace...if it could come apart easily rather than replacing the whole unit.

Hi Idiesel, yes just the badge chipped causing the issue as advised by VW dealer service in Victoria. I actually gave the badge a light run over with cut and polish and then one of those ceramic coating sprays and so far it has not done it (been 6 months). Tried to see if there was any easy way to remove the badge so I could replace the badge only but no luck so far. There are small stone chips on the bumper and some of the front bumper mounted sensors but they don't seem to have an issue at the moment. I do a bit of regional VIC driving for work so drive at speeds up to 110K where stone flicks are more damaging I suppose.

I wonder if you can get a clear wrap that can cover the badge to help protect it a bit - kinda like a bonnet protector but for the badge.
