Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

[QUOTE=tigger73;1286465]I know you won't like hearing this but you've basically got 2 choices.

    1) Keep it stock and learn to live with the drive characteristics. This is unfortunately how the software has been set-up at the factory. It's not for drive-ability it's to meet tight emissions standards and has been detuned in certain areas (low rpm) to meet those specific emissions targets.

    2) Tune it (both DSG and ECU) and have it put a smile on your dial each time you drive it.

Unfortunately the cars these days are engineered first for regulatory compliance and second for drive-ability. They tried to get around it but were caught...

Yep tune it my alltrack does o-100 in 6 sec now everyone who has driven it goes wow!
