Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

"Access to the boot is aided by a button on the driver’s door which lifts the power tailgate, but for safety reasons doesn’t close it back up - you’ve gotta get out and do that yourself with another button located on the underside of the boot lid."
Is this correct ? I thought you could close the boot from the drivers seat button ?
"However, at low speeds or coming to a stop, you can feel the transmission hesitate and shudder slightly, a recognisable feeling for anyone accustomed to Volkswagen’s dual clutch transmission."
I didn't experience any shudder when test driving a Highline from the dealership. Has anyone else experienced this ?
"The stop-start function is much better than others on the market, but still not as smooth as it could be, and if you’ve got the auto hold (parking brake) on while stopped, there’s a noticeable jolt and sometimes a delay when you accelerate to start moving again which can be annoying."
Stop-start seemed to work perfectly for me in the Highline test drive. Did anyone else experience issues with Stop-start ?Last edited by FastMitch; 04-01-2019, 11:05 AM.

Boot lid - just use the open/close function on your key.
Dsg shudder - might happen now and again on certain inclines/declines. TCU tune has fixed 99% of all the dsg quirks and made it awesome to drive in D, refer “Tiguan IS38 and big turbo upgrades” thread for initial review.
Start stop- use VCDS or OBD11 to disable this function.
Happy days!VW Tiguan 162 TSI Highline w/ R-Line & DAP. 1. Wouldn't you be opening the boot to have someone gain access.. you should have someone there to push the button closed 99% of the time unless your opening it for someone extremely short.
2. Yes, under heavy load I find a slight "shudder" but does not impact acceleration or the operation of the vehicle and last's less than a second.
3. I don't mind stop start and as stated it is much better in this current gen as it uses the radar to turn off the engine at low speed when you are applying the brake and it detects a stationary objective in front of you. Also, restarts the engine when it detects the car in front move forward or motion in front so most times in stop start traffic it will work without issue.. it is still annoying at roundabouts or when you need quick reactionary acceleration but I push the button to turn it off when I know that is needed.
