Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ACC disabled when revertng back from Traffic Sign detection

    Hi,
When I try to revert back the settings for Traffic Sign Detection (to default no detection, the ACC gets disabled.
There is Byte 24, Bit 6 that is Traffic Sign Detection value in A5 long coding. When I change it back to not activated the system de-activates the ACC at the same time.

Any idea what is causing my ACC to not available ?

I did it with the app from obd eleven and it generated an error in the infotainment system. I had not issue with the acc I could reverse it using the app from obd.

      Hey mate,

Did you end up finding a fix for this? I think I am having the same issue.

      Cheers

Yes, I did, as I found out there was one bit I shouldn't have touch. Will post the details by this weekend

Okay, here are my notes for that fix.
          Now going through the detail:

The issue turned out to be in ACC- 13 module

While I was going through the entire history last night I found out that last month when I first tried to revert the changes. I also changed bytes 1, 4, and 6 of this module. One of the bits in Byte 1 was for traffic sign and that is why ACC was interfering when I have been trying to default Byte 16 /bit 4 of A5.

I defaulted 4 and 6 of the above module this morning but after receiving your email and checked and changed the byte 1 as well. I'm not sure why I changed these one in July. There are possible reason, I may have accidentally entered into the module instead of A5 and then looking at Emergency Assist, Traffic Sign values end up enabling them. Otherwise I see no logical reason to it.
