  • Park Pilot stopped working

So today I think the park pilot packed up in my tig
I went to the shop and reversed out of the shops and it worked fine, then when I got home and went to reverse it said not available.

I’ve tried off and on, locked and unlocked with both keys, resetting the entertainment unit, activating and deactivating it in the settings.

I’ve ran an OBD11 scan and it’s come up with these codes, there were some others that I’ve cleared and they haven’t come back.

    19 Gateway
    Trouble codes:
U104C00 - Rearview camera system control module No communication
    static
    Date: 2018-07-09 14:54:47
    Mileage: 27343 km
    Priority: 2
    Malfunction frequency counter: 1
    Unlearning counter: 71
    Supply voltage, terminal 30: 11.5 V
    Terminal 15: On
    Unknown ambient data:

    5F Information Control Unit
    Trouble codes:
U111100 - Function limitation due to missing message
    static

I’ve got I booked in at VW next week for them to sort out but is there anything else I can try in the interim?

The only thing I can think of is maybe I started and went into reverse quicker than say the entertainment unit takes to ‘bootup’?

If the rvc module is not contactable it's either died or there is a cabling problem.
If it's under warranty just let the dealer handle it.

      Ok
Yeah still under warranty only just ticked over 17months old
None of the cameras work, no area view or any of the modes when you press the button, maybe if the rear view one is down nothing works

If you have areaview all the cameras are connected to the same camera control module. It's just called rear view control system.
        Have seen them fail.
I'd say you just need a new one swapped in there and you'll be golden.

so they had the car today
VW had put out a bulletin about this issue, they needed to update the camera control unit software and seems to have fixed the problem
i checked in the MIB, software version is still 814, so they didn't update that.
either way its fixed so im happy, odd though that working one minute, not the next *shrugs*
