Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

How do you find the Boot Liner compared to the Boot Tray ?

Did you look at both before buying ?

Or is the Kmart Boot Liner for $10 just as good ?

I have the vw top one. it's really good. I also got the boot protector strip.. both at the time of purchase as an add in - so money not considered. I would thoroughly recommend both, especially the aluminium strip... saves scratches of things going in and out..

They didn't have the tray in a Tiguan but they did on a golf wagon. The liner being harder is the go. Easier to move items on and the plastic feels more durable. As mentioned, invest in the bumper protector.

            ???

I thought the Tray was harder and more durable, and the liner was the flexible one you can bend ???

Apologies it is a little hard to explain. The liner is flexible but it doesn't scratch and Mark as easy as the tray. Visit your local dealer and you'll understand once you have a feel and play with them.o

This was what I posted in the accessory thread, that code is now expired but just go on OzBargain and wait for new ones

I've got the boot liner for the Tig and it ticks all the boxes for me. My local dealer had a sale on all 3 types so after checking each one out, the liner was the go - I felt that the plastic variants would be too slippery, as in the past I've had issues with items sliding around on plastic boot trays. Also the odd leaking milk carton creating pools of milk within the tray.

The liner is polystyrene and can also be rolled up and placed in the car if you suddenly find yourself needing to remove it.

It also has tabs on the side which indicate where to cut for the cargo net hooks. Takes 10 seconds.
