Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've done all of the common VCDS tweaks, and the drivers screen looks different to a standard Tiguan so there's no denying it. I had the car in a month ago to replace the entertainment unit (it had the dreaded vertical lines), and the only comment I got from the service guy was that he liked the way it looked. Maybe they're more lenient if it doesn't involve the engine or drive train? Maybe it's the person who is looking after you...

I'm waiting for a wrecked Tiguan to come up OR for someone to sell me their stock dump/down pipe.
Will chop it right after the cat/cat sensor and weld up 3" piping to it all the way to the slip joiner and reduce it back to fit the stock cat back.
Will also do back to back dyno runs to see if this mod is worthwhile doing (have access to an AWD dyno). Hopefully can score a few solid kWs without any flashing needed.
Then once the warranty runs out, will flash it LOLDaily 2018 Tiguan MK2 Sportline (Drag & Drop Tune, 12.9s @ 108mph)

You pay to play as has been suggested.
Random thoughts:
1. Of course things can be detected but this will only become an issue when something more serious has gone wrong. If you tune, accept that you need to fork out for it if/when it happens.
2. I'd also suggest taking the ethical route and playing games in trying to hide things regardless of your thoughts on the dealership. That's only usually going to end in tears and reduce any chance the dealer will go into bat for you.
3. Pretty sure if I had $300k to splash on a new Porsche I'd have no problems forking out $20k if something went bang.
4. Surprised to hear some dealers offering APR locally? There is an APR product in the USA with limited drivetrain warranties now (presumably akin to what ABT offered a while back) - it isn't anything like this is it?
As I'll be moving shortly into Guy's backyard I will probably discuss with him what he's doing for the five pots.

1) What kW & Nm increase do you get above the standard Tiguan Highline 162kW & 350Nm with the APR Stage 1 ECU Flash ?
2) Is there any mechanical difference between the Golf GTI 162 kW vs Golf GTI 180 kW engines or is the kW / Nm increase just from Tuning/Flashing-ECU ?
