  • DAP owners, please help me diagnose potential camera issue

    For those who have the Driver Assistance Package;
    please do me a favour
    When your forward packing and the sensors kick in, does it look like this photo or is the tip down camera active?

    No, that is normal. When it is triggered by close proximity (either in the front or side) you just get the basic park assist. The cameras don’t kick in until you either select reverse or manually push the button by the gear lever.

      Interesting... i showed the video to VW and they seem to think it may be a fault.

      So does everyone else get the same screen as in the pic attached?

          I had an intermittent issue with my cameras where it would occasionally give this screen instead of the camera view when I went into reverse. My dealer did a software update for the camera which is supposed to fix this. Maybe VW thought you meant that screen was coming up when you were in reverse and that is why they said it was a fault.

            My new polo with DAP and my my18 Octavia rs with driver assist both do this.

            camera only auto shows when you’re reversing. Needs button push otherwise.

              As someone already told you , rear camera start only on when you put gearshift in reverse or press directly P camera button. Otherwise if it detect front or rear obstruct object by parking sensor you will see only small picture of car with sensors around car, same as on your picture .So it is all normal and was always like this on my Tiguan 132tsi with Discover Media unit.
              Regards
