  • Coolant Warning

My Tiguan Adventure is barely 6 months old and today, the coolant warning came on. Checked the coolant levels and sure enough, the coolant level is very low.
I would not have expected this of a new car. Has anyone had this issue before? Where is the best place to get coolant top up?

Don’t worry, many owners experienced that including myself. Looks like their process of filling up the coolant system at the factory has some flaws causing an airlock. I went to the dealer to top up the system about 6 months ago and all is fine since then.

Thanks wpisdu, that makes me feel better. I called VW Assist and they told me just to top up the coolant with tap water and that it was normal for new cars to have low coolant (due to the air gaps in the hose when they originally top up). I was worried I had a leak. Will be keeping a close eye on it now.

If it occurs again, book it in with the dealer, and have it pressure-tested.

Just to let you know I also experience the same problem too! Went back to the dealer and had it topped up. No problems since and that was a few months ago.
