Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • T-ROC R Horn is weak

Has anyone fitted a better horn to the ROC? Perhaps a louder one from another VAG vehicle is better? I find the weak sound a trifle embarrasing for the R.

    Any suggestions?

Not sure about the T-Roc, but all the VW's and Audi's ive owned over the past 15yrs or so have dual tone horns (dual horns, one plays a lower tone and the other a higher tone - together they produce quite a strong sound).

Is it possible that one of your horns is not operating? Has the horn always been weak? Or its possible that this is a cost saving measure on the newer VW's like the T-Roc?

If it bothers you then look into a dual tone horn upgrade.

A quick Google revealed this which is for the VW Taos (id never heard of a Taos, but it looks like a T-Cross/T-Roc/Tiguan love child that is sold in North America/South America & Russia). Apparently these have a piss weak single tone horn so this company has created a dual tone horn upgrade B2BFAB Upgraded Horn Kit, For 2022 VW Taos

ID:	1861879 I think I'll get some GTI ones from a wrecker and see if there are two cables in the ROC otherwise I can easily fab a double adapter.
