Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • T-Roc City Life - 12 Hour Clock & Reverse Dipping Passenger Side Mirror

I recently took delivery of a T-Roc City Life. The salesperson said the car did not have a dipping passenger side mirror when reversing and also said the clock was only a 24 hour clock.

A quick review of the manual and you can in fact program the passenger side mirror to dip when you reverse so you can avoid gutter rash. As for the clock you need to go into the setup wizard to find the option of a 12 hour clock. This option appears nowhere else, so easy to think you can't change to a 12 hour clock.

Clocks are settable when you set the time as to 12 or 24 hour. Dipping mirror probably only comes on Premium models and my Kamiq LE doesnt have one and it was top model in 21. Just be aware you can only see the rear of the car and barely see rear wheels. I had one in a Tiguan and it was Ok but nothing special. What did you do in previous cars????

On my R I can see all the way down to the ground including a good view of the rear wheel but you have to set this up to be able to do this when setting it up.

Yes you probably can but on lesser models it isnt lowerable in reverse and I could probably have tried to get it lower On the Tig but didnt really need it to reverse park

Sorry for being a lazy arse (i had to ask the same question for my Tiguan RLine), but where is the activation for the passenger side, dipping rearview mirror when reversing?

            1. Make sure the mirror adjustment button (on the door) is set to L.
            2. When the car is in reverse, adjust the mirror to suit you.

After this, every time you select reverse, the mirror will drop as set in step 2 above. Works 100% on my T-Roc R

Yep as long as you leave the knob in L From what I remember

I did finally get this working, but even one of the dealer service guys didn't know the little tip required. It looks like you actually have to start reversing for it to dip and it only comes back up to the normal position, when you actually start moving forwards. It will not dip or return if you stay stationary.

Well that would be logical wouldnt it Putting it in reverse drops it and when you start moving forward it lifts it. The sensors that do it are probably enabled by the engagement and movement of the appropriate gear. Has always worked ok in the cars Ive had with it . Also from what I remember that book in the glovebox tells you how to work it
