Hillbilly let's hope the issue can be resolved. My Skoda app works but short of using as a means for the owners manual,telling me where my closest dealer is or as a route planner it is basically useless.

If you're using a wifi enabled app, yes it can. Example is wireless carplay - it uses wifi.

Doesnt Carplay and Android auto use Bluetooth to connect Does on mine for AA anyway

Same issue here, USB-C is reading my drive (can tell by the flashing light on the thumbdrive) but not doing anything. I have had it in the slot for a week.
Of interest I found this Technical Product Information on the MIB3 for software 027x (I have 0270).

I have not approached the dealer yet as I have other things to do - like lock myself down.

That is a brilliant lead, thank you for providing! I expect to hear from the dealer in the next week or so regarding installation of my towbar - I will bring this to their attention at the same time and ask for them to undertake the update on the day of the towbar install (assuming the update is relevant to my vehicle). *I am pretty sure it's relevant, since I am on version 0270, and cannot perform the map update via USB so that fits within the findings on the doc you provided.

Interesting...I decided to start from scratch on Saturday morning - reformatted the USB drive, extracted the map update package to it, plugged the drive in to the car and just left it alone. Version 20.3 at the start.

This morning when I arrived at work I decided to check the version information. 21.2.

I am dropping the car at the dealership this morning to have the tint on the front left window replaced - there appears to be a minor flaw in the film - but at least now I don't have to worry about trying to get them to do the system software update.

I know. I never said that the USB method did update the system software. System software is a dealer-only exercise, which was also undertaken on my vehicle - I am now running 0278.

No, that was in relation to being able to actually perform the map update via USB. There is history of system version 0270 being unable to receive map updates via USB, but an update to system software version 0278 is acknowledged as resolving that issue.

I was 'fortunate' in that when my vehicle was at the dealership on that day, they decided to update the system software to v 0278 anyway.
