Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TDI340 Red single cab

    Hi guys,

I've been on here for ages but never introduced myself, Tom's my name and I drive a MY12.5 Tornado Red TDI340 Single cab. I've had it for two years and it's been awesome for towing my drift car to QLD raceway and hauling my mountain bikes around, I've loved the fuel economy and drive of the car.

The car is pretty individual, I fitted alot of Ultimate and Highline bits to it when i purchased it as well as BMW 20x9.5 and 20x10.5 wheels, I'm stoked with the way it looks but I must admit I am missing a dual cab and 4x4, so very soon I'll be taking delivery of a TDI420 4x4 Auto. I've been searching high and low for 18x9" wheels to put on the 4x4, preferably something unique that not every man and his dog have, so if anyone knows of some feel free to give me a yell. If you like what you see then give me a yell because it's for sale, I will admit I'm posting this to be able to post in the for sale section but I wont be leaving the forum as I'll have the dual cab 4x4 soon hopefully. Anyway enough talk, here's some pictures.

So my red single cab has gone to it's new home, I must admit I nearly shed a tear, that was until my new Amarok rocked up.

          Thanks heaps guys.

I went with a TDI420 Auto 4x4 base model, factory size flares, colour matched door handles, mirrors, and front bar, Kings front springs, Delta4x4 18x9 wheels, 265/65/18 tires, RCD510, Chrome rear bar, Tow bar, and Rhino lining. I might tinker with some little improvements along the way but overall I'm stoked

Nice ! Would prefer the wheels in black though

BTW, where did you go for the colour coding?

I had thought about going black wheels, but it's been done so much and I like the clean fresh shiney look

The dealership I bought it from, their panel shop did the colour coding, Wippells Autos in Toowoomba.
