Next mods will be getting the dash fascia wrapped in a tungsten brushed steel (similar to Mk7 fascias), some Highline A/C vents for the stainless rings. get the tail lights tinted just slightly as the stand out so much, get one muffler cut out as it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
looking at lowering it next couple of weeks, and some wheels. Will be getting lowered all round in the next week or so

I bought 19" te37 replicas today, put them on to find nothing but i hate them http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...s/facepalm.gif too small and dont look agressive enough, i have other wheel plans in mind which will go ahead when i sell the te37's

Please excuse horrible phone pics and poor editing as im new to this site and not usually a forum user!

I think it looks worse than it is due to lack of tyres, however they're certainly a big set of guards to fill!!!

Looking forward to see how this one progresses

Well the events section is here, we usually have 2 meet-ups per month.
Das Social Club (Meets and Events)

I get the same thing with the wheel size on the Tiguan.
19's look small on it so i can't imagine how big you have to go on teh Amarok.
Hit up Sharkie as he is also based in Brissy and is going all out with his.

Welcome Bax! Nice Rok you have there, I love the TSI so far

RE the wheels, they look tiny without tyres, which by Rok nature is fairly large and would look better with tyres fitted IMO.

Given the size of the Rok, I prefer chunky looking rims as thin spokes and big Rok bodies don't gel for me.

Let me know if I can help with anything and if you want more power, just wait a month or 2 for the tunes to come out

PS, I'd also recommend a RNS510 to replace the RCD510, they are that good IMO.

Loving that single cab, if you wan't to see mine it's black with 20's to give you an idea, kinda looks like a tonka toy sometimes. That liner looks very very nice. I would definitely recommend factory head units. I have the mongoose QVW, which was really cheap but really slow!
There is a silver Rok near me with those 19's you have, it looks nice.

Cheers bombsquad! Just Sussed the photo of yours with the 20's. That's definitely a goer for me. What size tyres are you running? And are they 111v load rated??

To be honest i think the LM's will look just as small given they run a stepped lip.
My opinion is that thin spokes don't really work well with a ute that big, best to go for some X5/Range Rover style wheels.

Having said that, it is your car so feel free.

Problem with 20"s are that you lose a lot of height in the sidewall of the tyre which given the hard suspension on the Roks, ruins the ride IMO. I picked the middle ground with 18"s for that reason.

Performance mods are coming ..... ..... be patient a few months more ..... hoping for 190+kw and 400+NM from a tune only but this is subject to small differences between the Amarok TSI engines and MK6 GTI TSI engines ..... which there are a few of.

Already confirmed MK6 GTI tune will not work on the Amarok without recalibration. (which is due April/May ish)

I agree with Sharkie, I was scared about ruining the ride with 20's, I'm not a big wheels kinda guy. Luckily I have high quality tyres and I was surprised the ride barely suffered compared with the stock 16's. If you start with cheaper/heavier rims and harder rubber etc etc then you may have issues on your hands.

As for the tune! I'm in 100%, ready when you are etc etc etc. I have started getting itchy feet, but if April/Mayish is a realistic timeline then i'm gonna sit tight! I should order those R8 coils already!

To answer the Op's question about load rating, i'm super dooper and thanks for asking!

Yeah, I originally wanted to use the BMW x5 20's cause I have a soft spot for oem wheels, but out of the very few modded Amaroks I've seen, a good chunk have x5 alloys. So just trying for something different. I'll see how the lm's go. I might hate them too. Lol

Yeah I've tossed up on wheel sizes. But getting out of this into the rok; I'm sure the lower profile tyres won't bother me lol

Am 100% keen on some performance mods

Some other tuners have published figures and availability for the TSI Amarok's recently, however they are still to confirm if they actually tuned TSI Amarok's or merely applying the numbers from the MK6 GTI (in the hope it will be the same).

APR has confirmed the stock code is completely different between the MK6 GTI and the TSI Amarok and will not put the tuned MK6 GTI (or Tig) files on the Amarok without recalibration.

TSI Amarok runs a different exhaust valve cam (part number wise) so a full calibration is the go to be safe.

APR's calibrator will do the TSI Amaroks as well when he comes out to do the MK7 Golf R which should be April/May depending on when the MK7 R is released.

At the same time it is likely that Stg 1 and Stg2 will both be done as I will have a full stainless 3" turbo back exhaust ready

Stg3 (K04 turbo) sometime later this year also VERY likely ..... ..... 250kw/500NM Amarok anyone?
