I actually just had a look at it, I think your right, they have a bit of a copper coat colour. It could just be my screen though. I will have a look at one in the flesh this week.

Yaa they do a Tornado Red in the Amarok, I'd love one!

The main reason we got one is to fit the pallet in the back (which we'll be doing quite frequently). My main concern is how are you supposed to get the pallet (using a forklift) with the tail gate at a horizontal position? I understand the lower spec models without the plastic bumper has a 180 degree folding tailgate but with the Trend/Highline models, it seems a little pointless.

I'd hate to think of the cost to get it painted in Tornado Red!!! Would be nice though!

There are flaw's all over it, even though I hate to admit it, but still I wont kill it like I will the VR on those bumpy rd's around Mackay. You got the baseline model didnt you? As for the forklift your supposed to drop it on the tail gate and push it in....C'mon maca you will just have to bulk up bro! hahahaha

Easy. Put it up on tray as far as you can get in with the forklift, it will be 3/4 on tray 1/4 on tailgate, then back out a bit, lift up again, and put it all the way in.

I don't know what people are complaining about a small tray? It looks to be about the same size as everything else out there.

...or after you put it in as far as it goes (should be 3/4 of the pallet length) reverse and push the pallet fully in using forklift's forks ends.

Being the biggest in its class still doesn't detract from the fact that it is pretty useless when you need to carry something like a bike. That's all that I was getting at. When you see something like a commodore ute which you would almost get a bike in the back of a crewman well....

I see your point, but unless you get something like an F-Truck or Ram, you arent going to get a dual cab with a bigger tub. And a Commodore ute isnt going to get you very far off-road :p

Maybe if/when the Amarok Maxi is released, that would solve your issue (although it will be a bitch to park anywhere)

Lol HOLY CRAP @ That pic!!! It would be a right pain in the A**e to park.

Look really my gripe with the tray is little, you can put the tail gate down and put the bike's back wheel on that. So its not that bad, I'd rather have one than a hilux as they are a little precious and on basic principle I will not own a jap vehicle.

F-truck or RAM are way too big. I remember having the T3 dual cab ute and it was fantastic, you could put three grown men in the front and the back and still have plenty of tray space. As you said the Commie wont do off road, but I'm starting to be pretty determined to have a trend line sooner rather than later.

What sort of bike are we talking about here? Pushbike/BMX/MTB? Take the front wheel off.

I have carried many a dirtbike/motard around in the back of both VE and D-Max utes, and its a tailgate down affair, I usually run a small strap thru the rear rim to the towbar, but even at times when I haven't done that, the bikes rear wheel never left the deck.

We are talking a MV Agusta Brutale, and a Husaberg or KTM 450....which ever I can buy.

I've said a few time that it will be a tailgate down thing, but I see there is a bit of C Chanel stuff that you can get for the bike which runs the length of the ute.....it was in the pictures of amarok thread.
