The dealer gave me a called to let me know the the new work Amarok should be arriving at the end of May. Unfortunately only 17" wheeled Trendlines available, I only wnated the standard 16" wheels.

unfortunately we are all having to put up with that. the non-optional option... Must say though, I am happy with my 17's. tyre choice for them is still adequate.

What brand of tyres come from the factory?

Exactly why I am happy with the 17's!!

The factory tyres are 245/65/17 Bridgestone Dueler H/P

265/70/17 will fit no issues at all.
285/70/17 will require a lift, cutting a bit of the inner gaurd and different offset rims

well someone has one, i saw a mendoza brown highline on the pac motorway this morning

The reason for the lack of 16" is that whenever Volkswagen launches a model, they order the initial launch stock. When doings so, they tend to go a little heavy handed on the options...sorry guys. On a positive - if you order 16" you won't get the wide wheel arches!

do you a webpage or photos of the difference in the wheel arches as the brochure pics must all be wide arches as I can see the difference.

I have nothing "on file", but if you look at the base modell here:

you get an idea. Probably a 1/3 of the width if extended arches are fitted?
On a positive note/thought, you should be able to get the arches through "parts", so if you want the 16" for better choice of tyres or after market rims, just get a T/Line with normal tyres & arches and add the other stuff later...
