Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Amorok coolant sensor

Hey all, I'm after some despite help locating the ECU coolant temp sensor on a 2018 Amarok with 3.0L V6 engine. The manual that I have is saying it is under the intake manifold and behind the oil filter housing, but it's not there...

I've just finished resealing everything in the valley after a major oil leak developed, so engine oil cooler, water pump, thermostat, a few plastic pipes, hoses and a heap of orings/seals all got replaced. There was no fault before I stripped it but now I'm stuck with a fault code and the ECU thinking the coolant temp is 150' C at cold start.

I have nearly pulled all my hair out and almost stripped this thing back to where it was to replace/ reseal everything but still can't find the ECU temp sensor...
Working...
