This is what I will eventually do to my TSI300 (sorry TSI480)
Send links and I may consider it haha

Lots of choices (and not the only supplier for these parts)

Rods - I would go forged and not simply a replacement
        403 Forbidden

Pistons - again go forged and make it Stg 3 proof

The above should all be perfectly doable in the TSI, but bear in mind that not everything is interchangeable. I recently discovered that the sumps (including all internals such as baffles and oil pickup) are not the same between the Mk6 GTI and the TSI300 Amarok. The TSI300 is much larger to almost 1.5ls of extra oil capacity.

A 2nd hand TSI300 engine (with its own history and possible problems), will probably set you back $2-3K. You can get quality parts for less than that and then its just labour costs (free if you have skills and time).

Won't fit I believe, apparently some of the mounts are incompatible, and you will not be able to use any of the electronics/wiring etc in the Amarok. This will cost you at least 5X more to make work than simply rebuilding the existing engine.

The MK7 engines are dual injection (port and direct) whereas the TSI Amarok is direct only. This means an extra fuel rail with injectors and all the electronics, including ECU, cluster, keys, and the entire wiring loom at the very least. Cost of this will be prohibitive (think $10K+++) and then plus labour and extensive coding. Also, the MK7 turbo wont work in the engine bay of the Amarok (engine is longitudinal and not transverse)

Far easier to replace the internals in the TSI Amarok with stronger components and then go a K04 upgrade turbo.

If you want details of the OEM engine components look at Erwin.

I have a TSI Amarok and 7.5 R and would not even attempt to do a swap .... I will though build the TSI Amarok engine into a Stg 4 capability as I have a turbo upgrade on the shelf waiting. First will finish of the 4WD conversion though.

Turbo fitment and fitting everything is the easy part but the coding and wiring that's the hard part
