Volkswagen Golf MK8: Missing Features and Seeking Solutions

Hi guys,


I've been a Golf MK8 owner for a few months now, and the car is great overall. However, there are a few features I think are missing, especially given that they are standard in other brands at a similar price range:


Electric Car Seat & Memory Setting

Has anyone come across an aftermarket retrofit kit for this? I did some research, and it seems like they are only available in China, not in Australia.


Automatic High Beams

Does the auto headlight feature include automatic high beams? If so, is there a way to activate them that I might have missed?


Braking Assistant System

The braking assistant system is too sensitive. It has activated hard braking a few times while I was reversing slowly, which scared me
into thinking I hit something.


360 Camera

Has anyone come across an aftermarket retrofit kit for the Volkswagen Golf MK8? Again, it seems like they are only available in China.


HUD (Head-Up Display)

It does not recognize speed limit signs. Is there a solution for this?

Air Conditioning

Is there a way to keep the re-circulation mode on permanently?


Can anyone advise any solutions to these issues?

Dont know about the rest but aircon experts say dont keep recirc on for long periods as can lead to going to sleep on long trips with not nice results. Thats why if you have it on it goes back to recirc after a set period. Your car your life but I wouldnt do it.

Speed signs recognition doesnt fully work in any model in AUS as our maps dont have the required data embedded in them. Depends on hardware as well as I had it in my Tig but cant get it to show in the dash in the Kamiq, supposedly as it wont with the new version camera. Electric memory seats only came in top models in the Tig My R line had them but Kamiq even though is an LE doesnt have memory.
Auto high beam is called Dynamic headlights and also is usually only in top model if at all. Can be enabled as I did with an OBD Eleven. Have done so in the Kamiq but it needs the top version headlight to be able to do it.
