Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hello Volkswagen voice control

    Before my car's service, I used to be able to say to my car "Hello Volkswagen, I'm hot", and it would turn the temperature down in the driver's area by 1 degree. Not even my VW salesman knew it could do that, as I showed him when he was giving me my delivery familiarisation demonstration.

    In my car's recent service, they (probably) updated the software, due to my complaint about the car going the wrong way with daylight saving. Now the Volkswagen lady says something like "I cannot change climate control settings".

    Anyone else have a similar problem &/or solution?
    Golf VIII R-Line MY21.5 fully loaded – sunroof, sound & vision package (head-up display + Harman/Kardon stereo), Pomelo Yellow premium metallic (a.k.a. Lime Yellow in most markets) – ordered 18/3/21, delivered 17/8/21.
    Previous VW group cars: Golf VII Comfortline DSG MY15.5 pacific blue; Golf IV Sport MY04 reflex silver with sunroof; Golf III CL bahama blue; Audi A4 MY95 tornado red; Porsche 928S3 MY85 guards red with sunroof.

    My April 2022 build Golf R is the same, but its never worked at all. Navigation and phone calls is all mine will do. Quite disappointing considering climate control works every where else in the world according to YouTube !
