DSG finally gone in the MK8

Dunno if anyone here has actually driven the mk8 with the new tc auto.
I have and can say I am not a fan tbh.

It was generally quick enough to shift and usually selected the correct gear for the conditions.
But it did manage to get stuck in 1st twice, once putting me in a dangerous situation.
I'd say the majority of owners won't notice any difference to the dsg, apart from generally smoother take-offs, unless it gets stuck in 1st.

The only real DSG "trick" I learnt early on was rolling up to an intersection, stopping for an instant, then realising that there was small gap in the traffic and trying to accelerate. That's a big no no, the combination of stop start and DSG is a trap in that particular situation.

Don't you just hate Sydney drivers who leave gaps then creep forward not once, but twice... while waiting for the lights? It's like everyone in Sydney used to be an RSL Cab driver.
