I know the drl both light up in the alltrack premium models which i am happy about just 1 would have been lame

And to add to the list: dynamic turn indicators for the tail lights. Asked my dealer about the gti tail lights again and he said still no confirmation at this stage but there is a slim chance of getting premium led tail lights minus the dynamic turn indicators. Don't mind if this is the case though as compared to the normal ones.

Yeah i have the premium l.e.d tailights but am pushing the dealer for info on the dynamic ones still have not heard yet
looks like i will have to pick it up and get the dynamic lights fitted later might wait 6/12 mths and go aftermarket prob cost a lot less

Popped down to Syd City VW to take a look at new Golf. Impressed by the Golf R.
Salesman showed all the model breakdown and equipment and stock coming in.

INteresting was the reference to the GTI performance edition 1. Underneath were faded headings of Performance Edition 2 and 3. Salesman said as much... more special editions likely. Anyone ordering a Dark Iron Blue or Indium Grey GTI?

From GTI specs
LED headlights with dynamic cornering lights and tail lights. I assume that means LED headlights and LED Taillights

Yes I was told by my dealer that there will be 3 editions. Probably the 1st will be the only 3 door edition. I ordered an indium grey gti, 5-door. Due sometime August.

The more I think about it the more I'm inclined to go for a spec up GTI rather than an R

Was quoted 49501 dsg (no other options) & 46926 manual (no other options)
Yeah not much room haggling room at all. All I've got is around 700 bucks discount. You might have better luck to get more discount if you finance through them as well.

I hit my dealer up for the discount driveaway bonus on my car even tho under contract and car just landed yesterday i got it
don't give up i emailed them and said i want full discount cause its not like your not going to claim the rebate back from vw central
i will be hardball about it...
got a email back in under 2 hrs yep np we will extend you the discount go give em a try tell em others with preorder cars have got it

Thanks for that mate. Was told a few weeks ago by my dealer that the performance range is excluded from the discounts. Will keep pestering though. When is ur delivery? Exciting days ahead eh 😎

Yeah check car advice website does not mention gti and r updated cost what a rip ... i would still ring a few other dealers and ask about buying and then ask for discount if 1 will say yes then you have a big stick to beat your dealer with worth a try

Yep that sounds about right. When I got my invoice/order form for for the Alltrack, the itemised total was showing as over $52k before any discounts.

That pricelist lists infotainment as an option on the R!?

It does however call the wolfsburg a gti variant?

Yeah and has the gti pp as a 6 speed dsg when it isn't etc. I think it was quickly done.

I think this price list is outdated (as in the ORC discounts aren't applied for the standard golf range) I have got the same one when I preordered mine months ago.

My dealer will be getting an R in on Friday, but no test drives till August 14 when the official launch is.
Also re the pricelist, I have read that the infotainment system is standard on the R, hope that list is incorrect.
Doing the numbers though, if you could get a dealer to drop the ORC then you could possibly get a full spec R for 60k
